We’ll kick things off with a live virtual class, then you’ll be free to create at your own pace—building original characters and bringing them to life using simple animation and movement techniques. Once you sign up, you’ll receive access to a calendar and chat room, with exercises, and I’ll feature photos of your finished puppets in an online gallery on my website. This class is perfect for beginners, curious makers, and creative explorers of all ages. You can start this class anytime and join any virtual session. Throughout the workshop, you’ll learn how to create simple puppets from scratch, explore different styles of puppetry, and connect with fellow students through a group chat where we can share progress, ideas, and inspiration. what you will learn - -Introduction to puppetry with Little Fang and other characters. Learn the basics and begin building your own hand puppet. : -Character-building exercises, exploring play, and being less precious about making things. -Share drafts of puppets and explore other forms of puppetry, including shadow, tabletop, and reel puppets. Choose a new puppet to build or continue developing a previous one. -Learn basic movement techniques and experiment with voices, breathing, and pauses. . Create a short video or photo series to share with the group, and finish a completed or working puppet for the online gallery. Once you sign up, you’ll receive a link to join the live virtual evening class. Sessions take place on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM Eastern, and you can choose which dates to attend.
